GAP Year/Intern Opportunities with Youth Initiatives
Youth Initiatives is a cross community youth work which aims to awaken hope, inspire initiative and mobilise young people to make a vital contribution to their community and reconciliation in N. Ireland through the discovery and renewal of Christian faith in daily life.
We have a 20 year proven track record in high quality community youth work, delivering effective informal education youth outreach in areas of social need. We are based in West Belfast but have other bases now established in East Belfast through Strandtown Christian Fellowship Church, in Downpatrick and Banbridge. We are currently recruiting volunteers to take part in a GAP year/internship based at Strandtown Christian Fellowship Church. This role will involve:

• Take on the challenge of faith based youth work
• Experience serving as a member of the YI and CFC Staff Team
• Learn to make a difference for marginalised young people
• Receive ongoing training and development, supervision and support
• Established programmes for 11-14s, 15-18s in East Belfast
• Schools work, cross community programmes, cross cultural activities
• Youthwork related travel, food and training expenses covered
• You need to cover your own living expenses and arrange accommodation for the year
• 20-40 hours of youthwork per week, flexible schedule
