DEEP

DEEP is a safe, interactive environment both for young Christians, and those who are actively seeking and interested in exploring faith in Christianity.

The vision of the DEEP program, is encapsulated in the verses from Ephesians 3: 17(b) - 19: And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and DEEP is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

DEEP is aimed specifically at those from 4th form (Year 11) up to 6th former / 18yrs of age.

Our program activities are primarily held within the Merge venue, based within CFC (access via the Belmont Road side entrance).

Unless otherwise stated, our program runs on Friday nights, from 20:00 - 22:00. We have a nominal door fee of £1 which not only creates a sense of ownership amongst young people, but helps us subsidise events and activities, so view this sub as an investment you get back...normally in the form of pizza slices!

Our DEEP program is varied, and incorporates the physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of our young peoples lives, and as such, can be deemed holistic in nature.

Two new events that we run regularly through the year are:

1: DEEP SPACE- an evening where we intentionally provide SPACE for both our young people to move in the gifts, hear from God, and step out in faith; and SPACE for God to move through His Holy Spirit to speak to us, encourage and challenge us. Without fail to date, we have found this to be a highly effective model to help mature, inspire, and deepen the walk with God of many individuals, and has increased the sense of unity and shared vision between us all. We know God loves it so much, and that He wouldn't miss DEEP SPACE for the world.*

2: DEEP IMPACT- a Friday evening where our 4th formers - 18yrs, devise, develop and deliver a 2.5 hour program for our younger 1st - 3rd formers (11-14yrs). This has proved a fantastic way of empowering our 'older' youth to step up to new levels of leadership and gifting, and to be active role models for our younger youth. Apart from freeing up the adult volunteer leadership team for a night (always a bonus!), we have found it a great way of identifying gifting and growing the next wave of leaders, servants and volunteers at CFC. A definite WIN-WIN scenario!

YOUTH CELLS: we’re not talking prisons, but smaller groups of young people who meet during the week to explore their faith. Our cells run from 4th - 6th form / up to and including 18yr olds. For more details of which cells run on what nights, please contact Paul Francis.

...and there’s more: we run regular residential weekends, one-off events, and even mission trips overseas! Oh to be young again!
